The flooding in the Mid-North and Riverland region of South Australia has been caused by large amounts of water flowing into South Australian rivers. It's been a wet year in the east due to La Nina. During the spring and summer months in northern and eastern Australia, the likelihood of above-average rainfall is typically increased by a La Nina system.
